Sheridan Memorial Hospital's annual health fair is set to kick off August 13-18, and the appointment line is officially open as of today.
This year, interested health enthusiasts can also make their blood draw appointments online at the hospital's website, sheridanhospital.org. Community relations officer at SMH, Cecile Pattison, said results will take a few weeks.
Participants can choose which tests will be run on their blood. Choices include a complete blood count for $15, chemistry profile $50, and Vitamin D tests for $45. Men have the option of getting their Prostate Specific Antigen screening for $30, and diabetics can get their Hemoglobin A1c for $35. These fees must be paid when the blood is drawn, but may still be submitted to insurance companies for reimbursement.
Last year, more than 2,500 people participated in the health fair. To schedule your blood draw, call the hospital at 672-1196, or go online to www.sheridanhospital.org.
