The City of Sheridan hosted a media conference Thursday to welcome a new business to the community. Owners from Vacutech were in town to break ground on a 40- to 45,000 square foot facility that will be located within the Hi-Tech Business Park in north Sheridan.
Vacutech CEO John Tucker says that they put a lot of research into the expansion of their business to Sheridan.
Vacutech is a light manufacturer of vacuum systems with clients that stretch across the globe. Their headquarters are in Centennial, Colorado; however, they will soon be expanding to the Sheridan area, which means ample opportunities for students at Sheridan College.
Vacutech President Tom Tucker said that plans are to employ fifteen to twenty people to start with, with the likelihood of that number increasing to around fifty in the future.
The tentative schedule for completion of the building is late 2010 or early 2011, with the goal of being fully operational by Spring of 2011.
