Buffalo City Councilman Justin Gerard did not appear in court as scheduled Wednesday because a continuance in his case has been filed.
Gerard is expected to enter a plea of not guilty to his charges of possession of a controlled substance and intent to distribute, which stem from his arrest last Tuesday after a K9 search of his vehicle yielded two ounces of marijuana.
According to the Casper Star-Tribune, law enforcement reportedly found a gallon-sized Ziploc bag filled with individually wrapped quarter-ounce bags of marijuana. This seems to be in direct conflict of Gerard's initial statement that he intended to give the drugs to a friend in Gillette. According to Wyoming DCI, Gerard has since admitted to authorities that he intended to sell the marijuana. Gerard's preliminary hearing has not yet been rescheduled.
