The Jim Gatchell Museum Association's annual Fall Gathering fundraiser will be this Saturday at the Johnson County Fairgrounds. The funds raised at the event, from the dinner, auctions and gifts, will all go to the endowment fund for the museum.
Museum Director John Gavin tells us more about the endowment and why it became necessary.
The event will begin at 6 pm and wrap up around 9 pm. It will feature food, wine and microbrew tasting, live music and a live and silent auction.
Some of the items in the auction include dinner and hotel packages, crafts, a buffalo hide, firearms and many other items. The featured item, according to Gavin, is a tabletop bronze.
Tickets for the Fall Gathering are $25 per person and are available at the museum gift store, or can be purchased at the door the night of the event.
