The Sheridan Recreation District has been utilizing the old Highland Park School since April of 2007 and the usage numbers continue to remain strong. Recreation District Director Richard Wright says their future at the facility is still uncertain.
Wright explains that they are already discussing options if indeed the School District would need to use the building for classes.
Wright said that in the almost three years that the Recreation District has been at the facility, they have averaged about 3,000 people a month. There are also over 30 user groups that utilize the facility on a regular basis.
