A film crew working for a French television program highlighting places to travel in the world was in Northeast Wyoming this weekend and stopped by the Occidental Hotel in Buffalo Saturday night to film the locals, some background history of the hotel and the town and some local talent as well.
Sophie Vernet, a camera operator for the crew, spoke briefly, in very good English, of what the crew was doing here and what they hoped to accomplish.
The Program “Echappees Belles,” or loosely “Have A Nice Trip” airs on France's National Channel 5, which is Discovery France.
Vernet said while visiting Wyoming this trip, they will film a college rodeo, the Town of Kaycee, a local branding, “Old West Music” as she called it at the Occidental, and activities of some real local people.
This isn't the crew's first trip to the Cowboy State, according to Vernet. They were here a few years ago filming Jackson and the surrounding area in the winter time, and that sparked interest to return here during the summer or fall, and this year's trip came from that plan.
