The Department of Family Services is hosting an informational meeting for adults interested in becoming foster parents Monday evening at six o'clock at the Sheridan County Fulmer Public Library.
This event will explain the ins and outs of taking in a new family member and outline key requirements of fostering work. Pam Emerson, social services supervisor, said the meeting is for informational purposes only.
Emerson said at any given time in Sheridan, there are between thirty and forty children and teenagers not living in their homes. homes.
Emerson said that while being a foster parent can be challenging, it's also very rewarding.
