Fort Collins, Colorado-based HiViz Shooting Systems was welcomed by Wyoming Governor Matt Mead on Thursday, as the firearm accessory manufacturer announced they'd be moving their base of operations to Laramie.
In a media release, Governor Mead thanked HiViz CEO Phil Howe and his employees for making the move to Wyoming and said he will work diligently to make sure it's a smooth transition for the company. The move from Fort Collins to the Laramie River Business Park II will be a gradual one to ensure the company's service remains uninterrupted, but construction on their new building could begin as early as this summer.
Howe said the company chose Laramie because of the city's strong support of shooting sports manufacturing and supply chain industries, as well as its close proximity to an already existing HiViz facility. Additionally, Howe said the company also considered Wyoming for many reasons, from its business-friendly nature and a favorable tax structure to a firearm-friendly population.
