A fire northeast of Buffalo is finally out, but not alot of information is known at this time.
According to the Johnson County Law Enforcement Center, a call came in concerning a grass fire at about 2:15 Saturday afternoon.
Johnson County Fire responded to the call and fought the fire until 4pm Sunday afternoon when it was declared out. According to a source at Johnson County Fire, the grass fire burned approximately 1,200 acres. No cause for the fire is known at this time but it is still under investigation.
Smoke could be seen for miles Saturday afternoon, and the glow from the fire could be seen that night, especially from Interstate 90 between Sheridan and Buffalo near Lake DeSmet.
The fire was located northeast of Buffalo and moved to the east and north near Albright Road. No other information is known at this time.
