Authorities first received a report of smoke on Saturday coming from the Bighorn Mountains. The source was a small fire burning, about 1/10th of an acre in size, in a remote location one mile west of the Horseshoe Ranch.
Public Affairs Specialist Susan Douglas with the Bighorn National Forest said the cause is unknown at this time but a crew will continue to monitor the fire if more smoke appears. Douglas said the chance of the fire spreading remains low.
