The 20th annual Festival of Trees, a fundraiser for Special Olympics, was held Thursday night at the Sheridan County Fairgrounds.
The Exhibit Hall was transformed into a Christmas delight with decorated trees, ornamental wreaths, table centerpieces, all available for auction or raffle.
Anita Badgett, coordinator for Area 4 Special Olympics says all money raised stays here in Sheridan to help the five local Special Olympic teams compete in games across the state.
For these special Olympians, competition has to be learned.
Badgett has worked with Special Olympics for over 40 years and tells us what makes these competitors special.
In addition to dinner, the 300-plus folks that attended, could participate in a silent and live auction, plus raffles. Hopes are that the money raised last night will exceed the $12,000 raised last year.
