People of Sheridan found a new way to celebrate America's birthday this year as an estimated 400 people went out to the first annual Freedom Fest at the old Woodland Park School.
The event was organized by the Sheridan Recreation District. Business Manager for the Sheridan Rec. District, Rich Bridger, says that the event was a success.
Ten teams competed in a mud volleyball tournament, and kids and adults ate their way through several rounds of mini-corn dog and pie eating contests. Bridger says that the event will have most of the same activities next year, and maybe even a few more.
Free hot dogs and drinks were served, and other activities included a dunk tank and a wiffleball home run contest.
