Empower Wyoming has scheduled another self-defense workshop for women to start Monday, July 30. Francine Russell, founder and owner of Empower Wyoming, said the self-defense course is set up to help women avoid conflict without compromising their own quality of life.
Russell said she feels some women feel more insecure in the summer months because more strangers are coming through town, and there has recently been a violent attack in Sheridan. However, some of the most common assumptions about how women can defend themselves are not very accurate.
The class will be Monday from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Holiday Inn. The class size is limited, and registration is $40 per person. To register for the class or get more information, call Francine at 620-1511, or visit www.empowerwyoming.org.
