All of the employees in the Assesor's Office at the Johnson County Courthouse are certified appraisers, at least at some level, according to County Assessor Cindy Rogers.
Three of her employees, Tracy Preuit, John Camino, and Stan Iverson, are temporarily certified and working their way to full, permanent certification. They have passed two of five classes needed for the certification, she said, which is quite an accomplishment considering the workload during the last year.
Rogers and her deputy, Steve Esponda, are permanently certified appraisers and her newest employee, Deb Robinson, will also be going after her certification.
Rogers said Johnson County citizens can be pleased knowing that she has “the best of the best” working for her and those in her office are knowledgable with tax laws and can explain how home and property values are determined. They have a working knowledge of the process, and that helps every tax payer in the county.
Fair taxes and trust, she said, are of utmost importance in the assessor's office.
