The unofficial results for the Wyoming Primary Election are in and there were a couple of tight races in Sheridan County. For Sheridan City Council Ward 1, Anthony Fairbanks and Shelleen Smith will advance to the General Election, with Fairbanks garnering the majority of the votes. Sheridan County Commissioners Mike Nickel and Tom Ringley will move on for the two available seats. Since there were no Democratic candidates for County Commissioner, Ringley and Nickel will run unopposed for the two seats in November.
Current Mayor of Sheridan Dave Kinskey had over two-hundred more votes than Steve Brantz, although both will square off again in the General Election. And what was expected by some to be a close race, John Schiffer held off Bob Johnson for the State Senate District 22 seat. With no Democratic candidate for District 22, Schiffer will run unopposed in the General Election.
U.S. Senator John Barrasso beat out two candidates easily for the Republican ticket, while his Democratic opponent in November's election will be Tim Chesnut.
U.S. Representative Cynthia Lummis will run against Democratic candidate Chris Henrichsen in the November election. To view all of the results from Tuesday's Primary Election, click here.
