Coming up April 30th, the Sheridan Police Department will be taking part in the National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day. They held a similar event in September, and hope to hold them twice a year – once in the spring and once in the fall.
Steve Johnson is the Evidence Technician with the SPD says that he has modified the program somewhat.
Johnson adds that over-the-counter meds and inhalers can be tossed at home. No drugs should be flushed into the water system.
As for the Take Back Day on April 30th?
The Prescription Drug Take-Back Day, sponsored by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Association, will take place at Walgreen's Drug Store in Sheridan between 10 am and noon. Again, this is for prescription drugs only.
There are drop boxes in the lobbies of both the Sheridan Police Station and the Sheridan County Sheriff's Office, which can be utilized seven days a week.
