As part of its series celebrating April being National Poetry Month, the library hosted a poetry reading with Jane Wohl, Thursday evening.
Wohl shared a poem called “Triage” which is also the name of her second published book of poetry.
Wohl, a teacher at Sheridan College also writes fiction and short essays. A twice recipient of the Wyoming Arts Council Literature Fellowship, Wohl teaches her students to see.
Called “Dr. J” by one of her students, Wohl's poetry draws from religion, war, and even nature, including Great Horned Owls.
When defining poetry, Wohl uses this definition that she learned from a high school student.
Wohl doesn't search longfor ideas.
Wohl will do another reading of her poetry on May 5th at Sheridan Stationery.
