Closed because of landslides in July, Devils Canyon Road, FSR 14, is now open to passenger vehicles, according to a release from the Big Horn National Forest.
The road is located 33 miles northeast of Lovell in the Big Horn National Forest and provides access to areas including Bucking Mule Falls, National Recreation Trail No. 053 and hundreds of acres of national forest land.
A single-lane temporary road was constructed in order to re-open the road in time for fall recreational use and big game hunting. Reconstruction of the two-lane road is set for next summer.
Funding for repairs, according the release, came from the Federal Lands Highway Division which is a branch of Federal Highway Administration under the Emergency Relief for Federally Owned Roads program.
ERFO provides assistance to federal agencies to repair high level roads damaged by natural disaster, the release said.
