Education certainly has been an item of importance during this year's legislative session in Cheyenne. Most of the legislation has been geared toward accountability, with the focus of getting the most out of the state's public education system. Sheridan County School District One Superintendent Sue Belish gives her opinion on some of the education legislation lawmakers have been working on.
Belish stated that she would love to see more emphasis put placing learning in the hands of kids and developing independent learners.
Belish said that's an area that she wishes lawmakers would have been a little bit more innovative in when addressing education.
