The Town of Dayton is in the process of cleaning up some of their old and antiquated ordinances through amendments.
One of those ordinances pertains to animals within the Town. Dayton Mayor Bob Wood.
The amendment bans what would be considered farm animals; it does not pertain to cats or dogs, as they are considered household pets.
Wood says that the ordinance passed on first reading, but that the Council plans to take a look at the issue further before moving forward with the amendment.
Wood pointed out that the amendment does allow those with over an acre of land who have animals on their property to be grandfathered in, but that once the property were to change ownership, the new owner would not be allowed to have animals on their property.
