The City of Sheridan has recently received some good news concerning South Park, which is 38 acres of natural native riparian flood area located in south Sheridan that is owned by the City. City of Sheridan Public Works Director Nic Bateson explains that the Downtown Sheridan Association Board approved to move forward with a stream restoration analysis of Little Goose Creek within the park.
Bateson also stated that they have just received notice that they have been awarded a $250,000 Teal Grant through the Wyoming Department of Transportation to help extend the pathway system through South Park. Sheridan Mayor Dave Kinskey says that being able to leverage one-cent funds to receive that grant is another indication of just how important renewal of the optional one-cent sales tax is to the community.
The renewal of the optional one-cent sales tax will be left up to the voters of Sheridan County Tuesday. Just a reminder, polls will be open from 7 am to 7 pm on Election Day.
