The Sheridan City Council Monday night gave their approval to have Mayor Dave Kinskey sign an agreement with Neltje authorizing the gift of five acres of land in the Wrench Ranch Hills Subdivision. The agreement states that as part of Neltje's gift of the five acres, the City would release her from a prior commitment to provide pathways and a bridge within the subdivision within five years.
That prior commitment was part of the original land/infrastructure swap of 38 acres between Neltje and the City of Sheridan. The value of that five acres is estimated between $653,400 and $871,200. A question that was raised Monday night by a couple of those in attendance as well as Councilor Steve Brantz, was just where did that estimate come from? City Public Works Director Nic Bateson.
Bateson said that grant funding was acquired by the City and construction on the pathways at North Park began last year. Once complete this summer, the pathways at North Park will allow people to walk or bike from the Hi-Tech Business Park south through Sheridan to South Park on Brundage Street.
