While City Attorney Ben Kirven has been busy negotiating easements for Buffalo's new 18-inch water line with landowners west of town, a number of changes in the routing of the line has prompted the engineers to re-design portions of the project.
That has resulted in a change order to the project for additional funding for the increased costs of the additional engineering.
City Works Director Les Hook explained the situation to the City Council at their last meeting.
The line will be an additional water supply line that will run roughly parallel to Highway 16 West from the water treatment plant into a junction site just west of the town.
Construction is tentatively scheduled to begin in the spring of 2012.
