The Cowboy Carousel Center hosted their first event at the center Saturday night, a book signing with local authors to give the community an opportunity to find out more about the center and their future plans, pick up some great reading material and enjoy refreshments and live music.
Many local authors donated their time to sign copies of their books, which were available for purchase, and visit with those attending.
The event was a fundraiser for the center, but was more of an open house to introduce the center to the community.
Kitty Merrill, President of Arts Along the Bighorns (AABH), explains further.
AABH is wanting to use the Center for a community education complex, to rent office space or a number of different other ideas to help maintain the complex, with the ultimate goal to move the Cowboy Carousel to it's new home in the complex.
More information on the Center, the carousel and the community education plans can be seen at http://cowboycarouselcenter.org
A Kickstarter page has been set up for the carousel as well, and we will have more on that tomorrow.
