Coming up this weekend is the second annual Buffalo Art Chalk Festival and “Longmire Day.”
A number of fun events are scheduled both Friday and Saturday, including Longmire Day, which was added on Saturday.
“Longmire” is the TV show based on novels written by local author Craig Johnson about a fictional Wyoming Sheriff in fictional Absaroka County, Wyoming.
The Buffalo Downtown Association hosted last year's Art Chalk Festival, which brought local, regional and national artists to Buffalo's downtown to decorate the sidewalks and streets with temporary artwork.
Marie Verger, Director of the BDA, said the festival was brought back due to the success of last year's festival. This year's event will award First, Second and Third Place winners as well as a People's Choice Award.
The educational workshops to learn how to create chalk art will be Friday, July 20th and the actual chalking festival will be Saturday, July 21st.
For more information on the free educational workshops or the festival, contact Marie Verger at (307) 620-2244.
