The Johnson County Family YMCA will be having their 33rd Annual Klondike Rush this Saturday. Touting itself as “The run 'neath the Big Horns, Wyoming's oldest and finest 10K/5K run,” the race will bring nearly 200 runners into Buffalo to participate, according to YMCA Director Mike Quast.
Quast tells us more about the run.
Quast said the race will begin at 7:30 Saturday morning and should be done before the parade downtown at 10 am. The 5K and 10K races will be winding through the area of Buffalo near the YMCA, on Upper Clear Creek Road, Klondike Road, and city streets near the Y, so locals may want to avoid driving in those areas Saturday morning, he said.
Anywhere from 150 to 200 people normally show for the races, mainly from northeast Wyoming, but some will show from as far away as South Dakota and Nebraska, Quast said. For those interested in participating in the Klondike Rush, check out the YMCA website www.jcfymca.org
