At Tuesday's Buffalo City Council meeting, the long-running dispute between the city and the Frankovic Trust was settled.
After retiring into executive session, the Council resumed their regular meeting and Councilman Bill Hawley made a motion for the agreement.
The disagreement stems from work done by the City on South Lucas Street that the Frankovic Trust claims damaged their property through runoff and drainage issues, and that the street work brought down property values on their lands. The Frankovic Trust had filed suit against the City to reclaim their damages, and this settlement will keep the case out of the courts.
Councilman Stan Lakin made a second motion in regard to the agreement.
JLM Engineering was in charge of the City's project on Lucas Street.
Finally, the Council approved payment of the $185,000 settlement to Wendtland & Wendtland, LLP, who will in turn distribute the funds to the Frankovic Trust.
