After the Buffalo City Council adjourned their meeting Tuesday night, the question was raised by councilman Russ Humphrey on whether or not the council would approve reimbursing the new city/county engineer for moving expenses from the East Coast.
After reconvening the meeting, the council discussed the issue, with City Clerk Julie Silbernagel telling them the city had reimbursed moving expenses to at least two other former city employees in the past.
The general thought of the council was the moving expenses would be roughly $4,000 to $5,000 and they decided to pay for about half and seek the other half from the county.
Mayor Randy Dyess and Silbernagel discussed the issue further during the meeting.
The council decided to cap the city's portion of the moving expenses at $2,000 and ask the county to help with the other half of the expenses.
The city/county engineer told Dyess he would be moved to Buffalo and ready to take over his new position within a month.
