The first of what is to be many upcoming budget work sessions was held Tuesday by the City of Sheridan. The work session focused on revenues from various taxes that make up the City's general fund budget.
City Treasurer Jennifer Reed talked about the declining sales and use tax revenues that make up 32% of the City's general fund budget.
The optional one-cent tax is classified as a special purpose tax, meaning it is basically accounted for as its own separate fund. Reed explains why they are projecting a reduction once-cent funds as well.
The City Council will be holding noon budget work sessions almost everyday through the end of the month.
