United Blood Services of Billings will be having blood drives in Buffalo and Ranchester early next week.
The blood drive in Buffalo will be Monday, January 16th at the Johnson County Fairgrounds from 1 to 6pm. Mike Frigon, Senior Donor Recruitment Representative for UBS, tells us more about donating blood.
UBS supplies blood to all hospitals in Wyoming, half of the State of Montana and a handful of hospitals in western Nebraska.
The biggest demand is for type O-negative, because in emergency situations, it can be given to anyone. All blood types are needed except AB.
There will also be a blood drive Tuesday, January 17th in Ranchester. Donations will be taken from 1 to 6 pm at the Tongue River Valley Community Center.
To schedule an appointment to donate blood, call (800) 365-4450 or donors can go online to schedule their own appointment at www.bloodhero.com and type in the sponsor code “buffalo,” or “tongue.”
Although appointments are preferred, walk-ins will be accepted.
Donors need to have eaten, drunk plenty of water, be at least 110 pounds and have a picture ID. Donors need to be at least 16 years of age (with parental consent) to donate.
