The Sheridan Central Education Association held a silent auction Friday night at Sheridan High School to raise money to go towards scholarships for the class of 2013.
Artisans of the district and community members created their own one-of-a-kind birdhouses before and after the Sheridan High musical production "Fiddler on the Roof."
The construction class at the high school built the bird houses for the artists to decorate, according to Dan Miller, woodworking and construction instructor at the school.
"These kids really worked hard on these and I think they deserve some recognition," Miller says. "The same class is building a ton of outdoor furniture for the home and garden show raffle."
Millers says the proceeds from the sale of the student-created furniture will go to the "Food Group" here in Sheridan.
"I am very proud of all my kids but the construction kids give the most back to the community," Miller says. "When they are done with the home show they will be building outdoor cat structures for the Dog and Cat Shelter."
