CODY, Wyo. (AP) - A Bighorn sheep capture is taking place this weekend near Devil's Canyon in northern Wyoming. The captured sheep will be relocated to the Seminoe Mountain area in southern Wyoming. The effort is part of a long-range plan by the Wyoming Game and Fish Department to repopulate the species in areas of the state where the animals once thrived. Game and Fish bighorn sheep coordinator Kevin Hurley says that an added benefit to this weekend's transplant is to help prevent interaction between the bighorns and domestic sheep. Hurley says that the Devils Canyon sheep that are being
transplanted are close to a livestock trail used by domestic sheep.
