This past weekend the Buffalo High School Drama Department gave the first performances of a play written by co-drama coach Lori Lyle.
“Ivan's Place” is a farce about a German chef who owns his own restaurant that is having financial difficulties. He seeks the help of a loan shark to bail out his struggling business but tells his employees that a food critic is coming to review the restaurant in hopes that the crew will work that much harder to impress him.
Things from that point go from bad to worse as a slew of comedic errors and unforeseen circumstances look like they will be the end of the restaurant.
That is until a few twists of fate finally resolve the problems.
Lyle said she is proud of the kids and the work they have done on the play, and that she is satisfied with the end product.
“Ivan's Place” was performed Friday and Saturday nights at the BHS Auditorium.
