Sometime during the first week of April, the Powder River Cowboys serving in Kuwait are coming home. Sheridan Media's Mary Jo Johnson concludes her series on what it's been like for some of their loved ones during this separation.
Janelle has been studying to get her real estate license, which, along with scrapbooking and meeting with a military family support group, has helped her get through this year.
Specialist John Stanley became engaged to Chanda Olson last summer, and just recently was awarded a medal. Chanda describes what it's for.
Chanda says John has already planned a fishing trip -- in the mountains -- after his return.
And speaking of their return, Cory Ekis discusses how challenging the transition back to life at home can be after a prolonged separation.
Cory is married to career Army Sgt. Lawrence Ekis, who is on his third deployment to the Middle East working as a communications specialist.
The community is asked to prepare for the Powder River Cowboys' return by flying the American Flag, tying yellow ribbons on mailboxes and fenceposts and hanging signs in windows. Business owners are asked to post "Welcome Home" and "Thank-You" messages on their marquees.
We at Sheridan Media will be sure to run announcements when we receive word that the Powder River Cowboys are back in Wyoming.
