The third National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day was this past Saturday, and both Buffalo and Sheridan law enforcement agencies took part in the event.
Unwanted, unused and outdated prescription drugs were collected, to safely dispose of them. Keeping them from possibly being abused and keeping out of landfills and sewer systems is the main purpose of the program.
Johnson County Deputy Kally Waugh said it was busy in waves during the event, which is pretty normal.
He said people that brought their drugs in for the program thought it was a great idea.
Although this was the third National Drug Take-Back Day, Johnson County and local law enforcement have been participating for four years, according to Waugh.
