The Wyoming Highway Patrol responded to an accident on Interstate 80 near Green River Wednesday afternoon that involved multiple vehicles. The crash was a result of the aftermath of a rock slide in the area known as The Palisades.
None of the slide came to rest on the Interstate; however, immediately after the slide, there was near-zero visibility on the roadway caused by dust from the slide. This resulted in several accidents that sent four individuals to the hospital.
Nobody was seriously injured in the crashes, and everyone who was transported to the hospital was treated and released. Two people were cited for speeds too fast for existing conditions. The section of I-80 was closed for approximately four hours late Wednesday afternoon.
