In a media release from Sheridan Fire Marshall Brian Songer, he indicates that this Saturday morning, September 11th, the fire station will be the location for the annual September 11th Ceremony, marking the 9th Anniversary of the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center in New York City, the Pentagon in Washington, D.C., and the United Flight 93 that crashed in Shanksville, PA.
Fire personnel and Sheridan County Law Enforcement will gather at 7:30 a.m. The ceremony begins promptly at 7:55. At 7:59 a bell will be rung, observing the exact time the South tower of the World Trade Center collapsed. At 8 there will be a moment of silence, followed by the release of doves and a brief invocation.
After the ceremony, the public is invited inside the fire station for refreshments an reflections on the significance of the day.
