"We Are Big Horn"

"We Are Big Horn" says the newly placed Bella Graphics & Display signage on the outside north wall of the Big Horn High School (BHHS) - and deservedly so. On September 15, 2011, Big Horn High School was recognized by the Secretary of Education as one of 304 schools (nationally) as a Blue Ribbon School for 2010. BHHS is the first Wyoming high school since 1992 to receive this distinction and only the fourth high school in Wyoming ever recognized. Since the program started in 1982 only Pine Bluffs in 1982, Kelly Walsh in 1983 and Jackson in 1986 & 1992 have previously been recognized. Considering that there are over 125,000 schools in the United States makes being in the top 304 even more prestigious. The award honors public and private elementary, middle and high schools whose students achieve at very high levels or have made significant progress and helped close gaps in achievement especially among disadvantaged and minority students. Each year since 1982, the U.S. Department of Education has sought out schools where students attain and maintain high academic goals, including those that beat the odds. The sign by Bella Graphics & Display is part of their company program called "Capacity to Care." A matching grant program where for every dollar a non-profit organization or school spends, it receives two dollars of printing or graphic design. It was through this "Capacity to Care" program that you're able to see the sign today. As a side note Ryan Myers, the Graphics Designer for Bella Graphics who designed the signage on the school is also a Big Horn High School graduate. Ryan and Dwayne Hoops installed the sign on Veterans Day - no holiday day off for them.
