"They Only Make You Cry When They're Gone"

That's what is says on each bag of Vidalia Sweet Onions. Time is running low but you can still get "Vidalia Sweet Onions" from the crew at the Kalif Shrine at 140 West Loucks - just look for the big sign and the smiling faces. From the left: Madonna Rowe takes your money - $10.00 for a 10-pound bag, Ron Dailey controls the guard dog Cricket - if you pay, and Elaine Guilford makes sure the other three remain hydrated as evidenced by the glass near the bag of onions that I was told contained 7up - after all they are sitting outside where the sun could shine on them and make them thirsty and possibly dehydrated. Did I mention that for ten bucks you get ten pounds of onions, four smiles, a recipe pamphlet and a dose of conversation. Ron says the onions will keep until February if you follow the Storage Tips on the back page of the pamphlet. We use the sheer pantyhose method with a knot between each onion and hang them in a cool, dry, well-ventilated area. Enjoy!
