The Sheridan Little League Minors team, which is made up of 9 & 10 year olds, have a very tough pool in the District Tournament. Their first game, Monday evening, was a battle of wills against the Gillette National League Team. Sheridan trailed the entire game, but battled back and took the lead in the top of the 6th inning. Unfortunately, the Sheridan squad was unable to hold the lead, and lost to Gillette 6-5 on a walk off base hit from a Gillette player. On Tuesday, the Sheridan Minors faced another tournament favorite- Laramie. Again the Sheridan boys battled hard, taking the lead early going up 9 runs, but eventually they were not able to hold off the late charge from Laramie and lost 22-17.
The Minor leaguers will square off against home town favorites, Torrington tonight at 7pm.
