A "living valentine" but not for you deer

As the common name suggests, bleeding heart plants, bear heart-shaped flowers such as these, from which a little "drop of blood" dangles at the bottom. Bleeding heart plants are perennials that can withstand the cold of the Sheridan area, grow 2 to 3 feet high and as the title suggests they are deer-resistant - perhaps because all parts of the plant are poisonous if ingested in large quantity.
