Workers were busy installing signs in the Wyoming-Park Street Planning Area on Wednesday morning. If all goes well the streets of Whittier, Burkitt and Wyoming Avenue in the Phase I area may be opened to traffic by day's end. On April 21st a Memo from the Sheridan City Council went out describing the phase I project. In that memo it estimated that the first phase of the neighborhood project would take approximately 8-10 months. And here we are 7-months and 2-days later and the streets are about to open to vehicle traffic. The weather has slowed progress on the sidewalks but perhaps soon they will also be negotiable. This photo is looking northwest toward the fire station from the new junction of Burkitt Street and Wyoming Avenue.
Update: In talking with the Design Engineer, Chad Reed, of WWC Engineering late Wednesday afternoon he indicated that only Scott Street in front of the fire station and Burkitt Street west of Scott were opened. He hopes that the remainder of the phase I streets can be opened next week.
