At halftime during the recent Sheridan Broncs & Rock Springs Tigers football game the following came over the public address system: "Sheridan High School Students and Staff are pleased to present a check in the amount of $2015.50 to the Sheridan Memorial Hospital Foundation to support the Welch Cancer Center project in Sheridan. Students sold 532 "Broncs are all in Pink" tee-shirts in just 3-days to raise money for this worthwhile cause. We would especially like to recognize Kilpatrick Creations for printing these shirts at a discount for us. A big thanks also goes out to Sheridan Media reporter, Brad Estes, for helping the SHS marketing class promote this project. The pink balloons and mini-footballs handed out at the gates are courtesy of the Sheridan Memorial Hospital Foundation. Ada Kirven, Foundation Director, who is unable to be here tonight sends her appreciation to the amazing SHS students and staff for their commitment and achievement on behalf of Sheridan Memorial Hospital and the Foundation and the Welch Cancer Center. She also informed us that since our gift is over $1,000, we will be recognized with an honor brick in the garden area of the new Welch Cancer Center." The following individuals were on the field during the pubic address and accepted/presented the check: (l to r) Abby Trevino (SHS Interact Club Member and co-presenter of the check), Jennifer Destefano & Brooke Wattam (co-chairs with The Link-Partners in Pink). Kevin Bailey (Sheridan Memorial Hospital Foundation Chairman), Jennifer Pfister (Welch Cancer Center Manager) and Shannon Meixsell (SHS Interact Club President and co-presenter of the check).
Good Job Sheridan High School!
As you turn the calendar page from September to October remember that October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month - think PINK.
