Football Foundation Award Recipients (updated)

The Wyoming Chapter of the National Football Foundation honored Jordan Roberts and Austin Bolin with scholarships at the group's 17th annual banquet in Laramie on March 17th. Jordan and Austin were among the 11 high school football players honored. They also recognized Sheridan's Tempe Murphy as "The Greatest High School Football Fan." Sheridan's Jordan, on the left, was recognized as the state's outstanding running back while Tongue River's Bolin, who played in 2011 for the Big Horn Rams, was recognized for his offensive & defensive tackling. The ever supportive football fan Tempe Murphy is shown here with her arm around former Sheridan Bronc Devin Stites.

Roberts was awarded a $1200 scholarship from the foundation and will be attending and playing football at the University of South Dakota in Vermillion this fall. Bolin was also awarded a scholarship and is looking at either the University of North Dakota or Dickenson State where he will play football. In addition to these two winners, Sheridan's Riley Ryan and Aaron Gray were among the 72 scholar-athlete nominees. Jacob Hepp, from Buffalo, was recognized at the event for overcoming an season ending injury earlier in his career and was presented with the Chapter's Keith and Joyce Bloom Courage Award and scholarship.
