The Welch Cancer Center Patient Entrance door that has opened to welcome many since 1993 will soon fall prey to the jaws of the John Deere excavator of Sheridan's SSR Construction, Inc. - perhaps before the sun sets on Wednesday. Hospital oncologists have started treating patients in the new facility and it is time to tear down the old digs to make room for Phase 2 construction. The entire new cancer center is scheduled for an October 2012 completion.
