The Frost Moon aka the Full Beaver Moon won't officially arrive in Sheridan until 7:46 am November 28th but it sure looked neat shining down on Sheridan College and the brand new Veterans Plaza with its three flags proudly flying the evening before. The Full Beaver Moon, according to the Farmer's Almanac, for both the colonists and the Algonquin tribes was the time to set beaver traps before the swamps froze. In so doing they could be assured of a supply of warm furs for the winter ahead. In addition to being a Full Beaver Moon the moon will dip into Earth's shadow during a minor lunar eclipse early on November 28th. Observers in the Sheridan area will have the best chance of noticing the dimming just before moonset at 6:59 am.
