Runners Fight Zombies For Cause

The CHAPS 5K Zombie Run was held Saturday. Runners had to run through various "Zombie Zones" and try to preserve their "lives" as they ran through the zombie horde. Zombies were shuttled to the various zones via the Sheridan Trolley, and waited for the runners as they tried to grab as many of their "lives" as they could.

The event was followed by an a gathering on Grinnell Plaza which was called "Nightmare on Grinnell Street." The gathering included a beer garden, food from the Burger Wagon, and a "Thriller Dance-Off."

According to the event organizers, about 75 runners and 40 zombies participated in the event.

Prizes were awarded to Matt Johnson for male runner with the most lives, Becky Belcourt for female runner with the most lives, and to Jenn Smith for the best-dressed zombie.

All proceeds of the event went to the CHAPS foundation.
