Colby Wollenman - from Ram to Spartan

The screenshot shown here shows former Big Horn Ram Colby Wollenman, now a Michigan State Spartan, working with the Spartan standout Draymond Green during warm-up before Sunday's NCAA playoff game against Saint Louis. Colby left Big Horn after graduating in May 2011 and headed to Michigan to study medicine thinking his basketball days at a higher level were over. However he managed to walk on, is now a member of the team and has even played briefly in nine of their regular season games. Should he happen to get into a game, look for number 40. Their next game is against Louisville at 1:00 pm Thursday, March 22nd.

For a glimpse back at Big Horn during Colby's time as a Ram consider this: In the 2007-2008 season the Rams had an overall record of 4-21-0 and a state division ranking of 16 - In Colby's senior year 2010-2011 the Rams had an overall record of 28-0-0 and a state division ranking of 1. Tongue River's Stephen Yellowtail had a terrific night with 37 points in a losing effort in part because of the height of Big Horn's 6'6" Colby Wollenman who blocks this shot while teammate Cole Ponce watches the block. The Big Horn Rams went on to win the January 14, 2011 game 68-53.
