For the first time in seven years the New Years baby in Sheridan County was actually born on New Years day. At 7:20 am on Sunday, parents Scot and Jennifer Shields welcomed Alden Roy Shields into their family.
Hospital Community Relations Director Cecile Pattison said that this is the first time a baby has been born on New Years day since 2005. A surprising statistic, since they average about 400 deliveries per year at Sheridan Memorial, Pattison said.
Alden weighed 8 lbs 15 ounces and was 21 ½ inches long. They went home from the hospital on Monday. The family was given a case of diapers by Sheridan Memorial Hospital.
