Mrs. Adkins was born October 15, 1935 to Lester and Bernice (Patterson) Zeirlien in Orange, CA. At age 17, she was chosen to work as a secretary in Washington, D. C. for a Wyoming Senator. She received her BA from the University of Wyoming, and began her teaching career, which spanned over 20 years, 3 states. During this time, she received her Masters of Education degree at the University of Wyoming.
Mrs. Adkins retired to Sheridan, WY in 1995 and has lived here with her daughter and husband, Harold, who preceded her in death on October 15, 2002.
She was a member of the National Education Association and the Wyoming Education Association. Mrs. Adkins also enjoyed sewing, computers, cooking and spending time with her grandchildren.
Her husband and her parents preceded Mrs. Adkins in death. 2 daughters, Deborah Smith, of Sheridan, WY; and Robin Smith, of Salt Lake City, UT; 1 sister, Roberta Zeirlien, of Sheridan, WY; and 2 grandchildren survive her.
Cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are with Champion Ferries Funeral Home.

Butch was born on June 16, 1951, in Sheridan, Wyoming, to Paul and Patricia (Hughes) Affeldt. Upon completion of high school, Butch joined the military. Following his discharge from the military, he worked as a handyman for most of his life. He lived in Ventura, California, for some time, and moved back to Sheridan seven years ago. He loved his family and enjoyed carving, writing, and crafts.
Mr. Affeldt was preceded in death by his sister Vicki Jean Hall. He is survived by his two sons, Robert S. Affeldt of New Jersey and Robert D. Affeldt, Jr., of California; his mother Patricia Bacon of Sheridan; his father Paul Affeldt of Ventura, California; and his brother Marcus S. Affeldt of Ventura, California.
Cremation has taken place locally with Kane Crematory, and a reception in Butch's memory will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Monday, December 16, 2002, at the Big Horn Mountain Eagles Aerie #4169. Kane Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
Mary attended St. Peter's Church of England School. During WWII, Mary served with the Auxiliary Territorial Service and was stationed at Kidderminster, Worcestershire. She met an American serviceman, Lester Aller, and became a war bride when they were married in England on June 7, 1945. In March 1946, Mary departed Southampton, England, on the Queen Mary. Upon arrival in New York, she boarded a train for Kansas where she joined her husband. They later immigrated to British Columbia, Canada. In 1991, she and her son moved to Sheridan. Mary enjoyed going for rides in the country and taking pictures of her family.
Preceded in death by her husband on March 25, 1982 and
by her only sister.

Tony was born February 12, 1926, in South Dakota to Sam and Irene Borelson. Following high school, Tony joined the Navy. He married Laura " Betty Jean" Richardson, and they were blessed with one son. Tony worked as a mechanic for most of his life. He loved his family and enjoyed hunting, fishing construction work, welding and ranch work. He was a jack of all trades.
Mr. Borelson was preceded in death by his parents and his wife. He is survived by his son Todd Borelson of Sheridan.
Graveside services will be held at 12:00 noon, on Thursday, December 12, 2002, at Black Hills National Cemetery in Sturgis, South Dakota. Kane Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
Miss Brown was born February 6, 1928, in Sheridan, WY to Guy and Madge (Stevens) Brown. She grew up in Sheridan and attended Sheridan schools.
She was employed at the Michigan National Bank from 1974 until her retirement on June 30, 1995, having worked for the Michigan National Bank for 21 years. When she retired, she was a Special Projects Manager in Michigan National's Facilities Department, where she was responsible for ordering furniture, equipment and signage for branch and department renovations throughout Michigan. She worked in various areas of Branch Operations for the last five years. Prior to that she worked in Branch Operations in the Branch Operations Center in Lansing, Michigan. Before working for Michigan National Bank, she worked at Federal's Department Store in Lansing.
Miss Brown moved back to Sheridan in 1996 to be near her sister, Patricia Ward.
She enjoyed working in her garden and she loved animals.
Miss Brown is survived by her sister, Patricia Ward, of Sheridan.
Visitation for Miss Brown will be 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Church of the Holy Trinity, 2644 Big Horn Ave., Friday, October 11, 2002. Funeral services for Miss Brown will be 10:00 AM Saturday, October 12, 2002 at the Church of the Holy Trinity with Father Stuart J. Crawshaw officiating. Burial will be in Willow Grove Cemetery, Buffalo, WY. Arrangements are with Champion Ferries Funeral Home.

William was born on September 8, 1937, to Theodore and Ruth (Benzie) Buch in Chicago, Illinois. Following his graduation from high school, he entered the military, and upon his discharge, became a truck driver. He later married Donna Raehsler.
Mr. Buch was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife Donna of Story; his daughter Nancy Price and her husband Jay; his brother Frederick Buch and his wife Lise; her five step-children, Sharon Toy, Barbara Rideb, Alan Susmilch, Steven Susmilch, and Gail Kalli; ten grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; nephews and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held on Friday, October 25, 2002, at 11:00 a.m. at Gill Brothers Funeral Chapel in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Interment was in the Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Kane Funeral Home handled the local arrangements.
The family has requested that memorials be made in William's name to the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association in care of Kay Roush, First Federal Savings Bank, P.O. Box 6007, Sheridan, WY 82801.
Mrs. Burnside was born in Clarksburg, W.V. on January 8, 1935, to Fred and Evelyn (Holmes) Post. She grew up in West Milford, W.V. and graduated from Unidis High School with the Class of 1953. She received her Bachelor of Science degree from West Virginia Wesleyan College, Class of 1957-58 where she met many friends who remained dear to her heart through the years. She was a member of Alpha Xi Delta, Delta Psi Kappa, and other campus organizations. She was a medical technician working the the field of medicine.
Kay's family has resided in Virginia and West Virginia since 1617.She had an interest in Genealogy, Paleontology, crafts, music, and was an avid reader.
She left West Virginia andmoved to Wyoming in 1974 and expect for a 4 year period, remained in the Sheridan area. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Mrs. Burnside was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by three children,
Michael Cole Burnside, Clarksburg, W.V; Lisa Kay Painter, Sewickley, PA;
and Gina Lynn Burnside, Leesburg, Virginia; and 1 grandson.
Memorial service will be 4:00 PM, Saturday, October 19, 2002 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints with Bishop Richard Welch officiating.

Mr. Cammack was born August 28, 1928 in Spearfish, S. D. to Everett Robert and Katherine M. (Anderson) Cammack. He grew up near Hulett, WY N. of Devil's Tower on the family ranch. He attended schools in Hulett and Sundance, graduating from Sundance High School in 1946. He attended the University of Wyoming for 2 years.
Mr. Cammack married Kola "Kay" Robertson January 7, 1951 in Rapid City, S.D. They lived in Torrington, & Billings where he had his own trucking company. They moved to Pocatello, ID, then to Cheyenne and Seattle where he worked for the Petrolane Co. They then returned to Billings, MT where he started his own consulting business in 1981, called Tracey Resources. They then moved to Denver, then returned to Sheridan. They moved to Buffalo in 1999.
He was president of the L. P. Gas Association of Wyoming in 1976. He enjoyed snow-mobiling, enjoyed traveling, and loved spending time with his family.
Mr. Cammack was preceded in death by his parents, 1 brother and 1 daughter, Tracey. He is survived by his wife Kay, of Buffalo; 2 sons, Kelly Dee Cammack of Federal Way, WA, and Marshall Wayne Cammack of Valdez, Alaska; 1 daughter, Patricia Joy Schoenfeld of Anchorage, Alaska, and 1 grandson.
Services for Mr. Cammack will be 2:00 PM Saturday, November 2, 2002 at St. Peter's Episcopal Church with the Rev. David Duprey officiating. Cremation will follow with private family committal services in St. Peter's Episcopal Church Columbarium at a later date.
Visitation will be 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM Friday, November 1, 2002 at Champion Ferries Funeral Home. Arrangements are with Champion Ferries Funeral Home.

He started working in the theatre business in 1937 at the Bluebird Theatre in Denver. He worked in Colorado, Nebraska, New Mexico and South Dakota before coming to Wyoming in 1950. He married Margaret (Peg) Stouffer in Newcastle, Wyo. on July 22, 1952, and soon moved to Sheridan. In the spring of 1953 he bought the Orphuem Theatre and began Orphuem Theatres Inc., which included the Wyo Theatre, Skyline Drive-in and Centennial Theatres in Sheridan and the Bison and Sunset Theatres in Buffalo.
In 1962 he and several friends formed Theatre Operators Inc., which became a regional theatre chain in seven western states. He served on the board of National Association of Theatre Owners and was vice-president. He was the 1980 Showester of the Year. He was president of the Sheridan County Chamber of Commerce in 1957, managing director of All American Indian Days in 1959-60, a member of the Big Horn Mountain Masonic Lodge # 43,the Scottish Rite and Kalif Shrine, a member of Elks Lodge # 520, a member of the American Legion Drum and Bugle Corps and served on the Vestry of St. Peter's Episcopal Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and his sister Jane. He is survived by his wife Peg of Sheridan, sons Ross (Steve) of Las Vegas, Bill (William) and wife Kelli of Sheridan, Joe (Joseph) of Sheridan, daughters Sally (Sarah) Eaton of Sheridan, Meg (Margaret) of Los Angeles, and 5 grandchildren of Sheridan.
Services will be held at 10:00 on Tuesday, December 10, 2002 at St. Peter's Episcopal Church with interment in St. Peter's Columbarium.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Shriner's Crippled Children's fund or the St. Peter's Organ Fund % Delphine Toner at 1st Interstate Bank.
She graduated from Eustis High School in 1922. Anna married Leslie M. Cross on March 20, 1923, in Moorefield, NE. They came to Sheridan in 1938. She volunteered for many causes. Anna was a member of First Presbyterian Church, church circle #4, Easter Star Naomi Chapter #2 and the Women's Club. She enjoyed her home, working in the yard and garden.
Preceded in death by her husband in 1990, four sister
and four brothers.

Mrs. Dahlin was born July 13, 1943 in Pacific, Missouri to Pete and May Albertson. She grew up and attended schools in Pacific. She married John Dahlin December 31, 1962 in Pacific. After Mr. Dahlin's discharge from the Army, they moved to Sheridan where she has resided until her death.
Mrs. Dahlin was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by 1 son, Mike Dahlin
of Salt Lake City, Utah; 3 daughters, Deanna Martinez of Sheridan; Jeri
Barnett of Tucson, AZ; and Melissa Leibhart of St. Charles, Missouri; and
3 sisters, Norma Fryer, Doris Brown, and Shirley VanVorst, all of Missouri;
9 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
Memorial services for Mrs. Dahlin will be held Saturday, 2:00 PM, October 19, 2002 at the Sunrise Assembly of God Church with Reverend John Jackson officiating. Arrangements are with Champion Ferries Funeral Home.
Richard was born in Sheridan, Wyoming, on October 29, 1938, to Russell "Rex" and Barbara (Carter) Daniels. He grew up in Sheridan and graduated from Sheridan High School in 1957 with his twin brother Raymond. Richard also served in the U.S. Navy.
Mr. Daniels was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents. He is survived by his twin brother, Raymond and his wife Anne of Dublin, California, and his sister, Janis Loyd of Otter, Montana.
Pursuant to Richard's request, cremation has taken place locally with Kane Crematory and no memorial services will be held. Inurnment of cremains will take place in the Dayton Cemetery.
Sarah was born on March 15, 1968, in Bismarck, North Dakota, to Lynn and Irene Moore. She was raised in Billings, Montana, attending Meadowlark, Will James, and Billings West High School. She had a very bright mind and had graduated Valedictorian of her nursing class in 2001 at Sheridan College. She was employed at Memorial Hospital of Sheridan County at the time of her death.
Sarah was an avid reader and wrote poems. Her favorite place was the family cabin at Georgetown Lake where she would always be the last person sitting by the fire, philosophizing on life. She had a soft heart and was always there for friends in need of help. She had a soul that knew nothing but love for everyone. Sarah enjoyed the outdoors, finding peace in the wilderness of Jericho Bay in Anaconda. She loved boating and being close to the water.
Mrs. Dobbs is survived by her husband Robert of Sheridan; her two sons Wyat Dobbs and Christian Kilpatrick of Sheridan; her three daughters, Brittany and Bailey Dobbs of Sheridan, and Monica Mower of Scottsdale, Arizona; her parents, Lynn and Irene Moore of Billings, Montana; her siblings, Katie Helvaci and her husband Mehmet William Moore and his wife Jenifer of Billings, Montana, and Molly Coombs and her husband Steve of Grand Prairie, Texas; her two nephews, Bulent Helvaci of Billings, Montana, and Isaac Coombs of Grand Prairie, Texas; her niece Gabrielle Coombs of Grand Prairie, Texas; and her many friends.
At Sarah's wishes, cremation has taken place locally with Kane Crematory, and memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 26, 2002, at Kane Funeral Home with Pastor Charles Gifford officiating. Kane Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.

Edward was born on September 7, 1929, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, to Robert and Meda (Condra) Dorsey. Following his graduation from high school, he entered the U.S. Army, and served his country until 1948, when he was honorably discharged. He again entered the Army in 1950 and served until 1952, when he honorably discharged for the second time. He was a Golden Glove Trainer in Worland, and he worked for many years, but most recently as a radio broadcaster with KIML in Gillette, Wyoming.
He is survived by his four children, Michelle Lapine, Tammy Robinson, Vance Dorsey, and Travis Dorsey, and his very special friend Georgia Opendack.
At Edward's request, cremation has taken place locally with Kane Crematory, and inurnment of cremains will be in the Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis, Minnesota, at a later date. Kane Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.

Dorothy was born on November 21, 1923, in Sheridan, Wyoming, to George and Mary (Kraft) Smith. Following her graduation from Sheridan High School, she attended nurse's training at the Denver School of Nursing in Denver, Colorado. Dorothy married Jack Dow on October 8, 1946, in Hardin, Montana. She worked as a pediatric nurse for several years, and also worked very hard as Jack's wife on the ranch.
Dorothy enjoyed bowling, quilting, crocheting, sewing, painting, leather tooling, going to lunch with her sister Josephine, and gardening. She was a wonderful cook and a very hospitable person. She liked most outdoor activities, including hunting and fishing. Dorothy loved animals and children, and she poured her life into the ranch. She was a very devoted mother and grandmother who was a big source of jokes and enjoyed playing practical jokes on those around her.
Mrs. Dow was preceded in death by her husband Jack in September, 2001; her son Jack; her granddaughter Laura Dow; and her parents. She is survived by her son Bert Dow and his wife Susan of Big Horn; her two grandsons, Brandon and Kevin Dow of Sheridan; and her sister Josephine Hobbs and her husband Ray of Story.
Cremation has taken place locally with Kane Crematory, and memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 27, 2002, at Kane Funeral Home with Pastor Charles Gifford officiating. Kane Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.

Mr. Doyen was born July 2, 1905 in Richwoods, Missouri to William T. and Maggie J. (Rutledge) Doyen. When he was 12 years old, he moved with his family to the Buffalo area where he and his father built fences on various ranches. He then moved to Midwest where he started his painting career. After several years, he moved back to Sheridan and bought a ranch S. of Sheridan. Mr. Doyen moved to Sheridan in 1948, where he was a painter until his retirement in 1970.
Mr. Doyen was a past member of the Eagles club and the Knight's of Columbus, and is a member of Holy Name Catholic Church. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and raised a large garden.
Mr. Doyen was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, 1 brother, and 2 sisters.
He is survived by 1 step-daughter, Teresa Stephenson, of Sheridan; K. C. Shearwood, of Clinton, Utah; and several other nieces and nephews.
Funeral Liturgy for Mr. Doyen will be 10:00 AM Thursday, October 24, 2002 at Holy Name Catholic Church with Father Ron Stolcis as Celebrant. Burial will be in Sheridan Municipal Cemetery.

She grew up on the ranch near Centennial, WY, which was homesteaded by her grandparents in 1882. In high school, she was active in 4-H and receive two Honor Scholarships. Although she studied pre-med at the University of Wyoming she changed her focus and was graduated with a degree in Home Economics. She taught school in Lingle and Newcastle before becoming an Extension Agent for the University in Big Horn County and then in Sheridan County where she helped improve the lives of homemakers and 4-Hers. 4-H presented her with an award for Meritorious Service. Katherine retired from the workforce and married Everett Edwards on June 16, 1946. She was an active volunteer with the Cub Scouts, Brownies, raising money for charity, county fairs and many other activities as well as serving on the Boards of the American Association of University Women and the Northern Wyoming Community College. She was a member of the Sheridan Book Club, P.E.O. and an integral part of activities of First Congregational Church. Katherine enjoyed cooking, sewing and crocheting.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1976, brother

Vicki was born on February 25, 1941, to Wally and Dorothy (Brewer) Achenbach in Sheridan. She married Bill Eskew, sidekick and soul mate, on August 9, 1988. She lived in Sheridan County most of her life, working for the Padlock Ranch, Ucross Guest Ranch, and the Ranger Bar before retiring. Vicki lived life to the fullest. She enjoyed singing, the outdoors and all aspects of nature, but most of all, time spent with family and friends. Known for a big heart, and being a rock of tiny proportion for all who needed her, she will be greatly missed.
Vicki Eskew was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband Bill of Sheridan; her daughter Tammy Corcoran and her husband Dennis of Dayton, Wyoming; her two sons, Alan Crackenberger and his wife Susan of Ranchester, Wyoming, and Danny Dayton and his wife Brandy of Sheridan; her nine grandchildren, Troy Corcoran, Skyler Corcoran, Jessica (Crackenberger) Arizona, Jamie Crackenberger, Bobbie Jo Crackenberger, Josie Crackenberger, Cindy Dayton, Devin Dayton, and Morgan Spielman; her great-granddaughter Isabella Victoria Arizona; her sister Billie McCoul and her husband Raymond of Moorcroft, Wyoming; and her brother Terry Achenbach of Brownsville, Texas.
Cremation has taken place. The family will be hosting a carry-in dinner on Friday, November 15, 2002, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Dayton Community Hall to celebrate her life. Kane Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.

Parke was born on December 2, 1905, in Larned, Kansas, one of ten children born to David and Jennie (Smeltzer) Fox. Following his school years, he worked as a ranch mechanic, and married Mildred Chace in 1975 in Gillette, Wyoming. He ran the Ranchester Garage for 40 years. Parke enjoyed breaking horses to ride, riding in rodeos, making and mounting silver spurs, and big game hunting and fishing.
Mr. Fox was preceded in death by his parents, and his nine siblings. He is survived by his wife Mildred of Sheridan; his two daughters, Maxine Sipe and her husband Jack of Sheridan, and Shirley Samson and her husband Chuck of Wheatland, Wyoming; his stepson Bill Chace of Sheridan; one son; ten grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Mrs. Goehring was born August 8, 1909 in Nebraska to Paul and Gertrude (Dennels) Murphy. She lived in Sheridan for many years and raised her family here. She was a member of the Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward, in 1982; 1 son, her parents; 4 sisters; and 2 brothers.
Mrs. Goehring is survived by one son, Fred of Sheridan; and one daughter, Donna Magee, of Raymond, WA; 18 grandchildren and 36 great grandchildren.
Graveside services for Mrs. Goehring will be 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, November 19, 2002 in the Sheridan Municipal Cemetery with the Rev. Arthur Maendl officiating. Arrangements are with Champion Ferries Funeral Home.
Doris Kathryn Corwin Greenough was born in Hemet, California on March 15, 1910 to William and Jennie Mae (Cox) Corwin. Her folks were apricot and walnut growers in the San Jacinto Valley. She attended college in Riverside, CA and graduated from Santa Ana College. In the summer of 1933, she came to Montana with a college friend and relatives where she met and fell in love with Frank Greenough. That fall she enrolled in Normal School at Billings. Frank and Doris were married in Hardin, Montana on October 24, 1934.
Their early married years were spent at Wyola, MT where Frank was the cowboss on the Antler Ranch. Gary, Myrtle Ann, Pat and Doug were born there. In 1945, they sold their holdings in Montana and bought the ranch at Recluse, Wyoming where Kathy and Mike were born and they adopted Jess. Their children were all raised at Recluse. She was a member of the Recluse Women's Club, 4-H, Wyoming CowBelles, and Arizona CowBelles.
In 1958, the Wyoming CowBelles named Doris the Wyoming Top Homemaker of the Year. Doris wrote and published her autobiography "Surviving the Good Life" which told the life of a woman on the ranch.
In 1963, they bought a ranch south of Tucson at Sahuarita, Arizona and thereafter Frank and Doris spent their winters in Arizona and summers at their cabin on Piney Creek in Story. Later on they moved from Sahuarita into Green Valley, Arizona. Frank Greenough passed away July 29, 1990.
Since then Doris has spent her years in Hemet, California and Sheridan, Wyoming. She enjoyed being with her family.
Doris was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Greenough, her brother Webb Corwin, and her youngest son, Jess Greenough. She is survived by her sister Ardis Councilman in Hemet, California and six of her seven children: Gary Greenough, Tucson, AZ; Myrtle Ann Wallis, Recluse, WY; Pat Greenough and Doug Greenough, Sheridan, WY; Kathy York, Chino Valley, AZ; and Mike Greenough of Cochise, AZ; twenty-five grandchildren and thirty-three great grandchildren.
Services will be 10:00am on Thursday (Dec. 12th) from Champion-Ferries Funeral Home with the Rev. David Duprey officiating. Interment will be in Sheridan Elks Cemetery.

The family came to Sheridan when he was three. He grew up and graduated high school in Sheridan. Lars worked for N.A. Nelson Construction until 1997 when he went to work for T.I.C. doing industrial construction in many different states. He enjoyed Nascar racing, skiing, going to the mountains and little children.

He grew up in the Sheridan area and graduated from Sheridan High School. Frank enlisted in the U.S. Army and served during the Korean War where he attained the rank of Sergeant with special recognition in electronics and communications. He was transferred to Japan where he met and married Rino Shimokawara on March 18, 1952, in Hokaido, Japan. After the service, they moved to Wyoming and lived in Sheridan and Gillette. Frank worked many jobs until he returned to ranching that he loved near Kirby, MT. Frank was very supportive of his children in their activities, sports and as a Boy Scout leader. He enjoyed playing musical instruments, natural healing, nature, hunting and fishing. Frank was a life member of the NRA.

John was bon April 5, 1941, to Frederick and Delma (Dodd) Heldt. He was raised in The Dalles, Oregon, and graduated from high school where he excelled in baseball. John served in the U.S. Army, and moved to Sheridan in 1964, where he was involved with the Dodd family ranch in Wyarno. He was in the insurance business for several years before moving to Buffalo, Wyoming, where he owned an apartment complex. John devoted the last 15 years of his life to helping others recover from alcoholism and will be missed by many.
Mr. Heldt was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents. He is survived by his sister, Barbara Heldt Johnson and her husband Charlie; his niece Lara Pabst; his nephew Scott Johnson; and his cousin John Gale and wife Liz of Sheridan.

Mrs. Henderson was born July 28, 1927 in West York, PA. to Dr. F. C. and Lydia Emily (Weigel) Lepperd, Sr. She attended school in Hanover, PA, and spent as much time as she could in the summers at her Grandfather's apple orchards in Cranberry Valley. PA. She furthered her education at Mt. Holyoke and Wilson College, Chambersburg, PA, where she obtained a B. A. in English. Summers away from college were spent working for Bone's Brother's Guest Ranch in Birney, MT. She drove an old Willy's Jeep all the way to Montana and back to Pennsylvania at a top down hill speed of 45 MPH. After her college education she worked at a guest ranch in Arizona. The southwest enchanted her and she resided in the Southwest for a long while.
On May 28, 1954, she married Patrick Chester Henderson in Gallup, New Mexico. They lived in Cave Creek, Arizona for a period of time and had a daughter and a son there. Susie then moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico, and furthered her education at the University of New Mexico and the College of Santa Fe. She moved to Cerrillos, New Mexico and was a librarian for the New Mexico Historical Museum library and a school librarian as well. She worked several summers at Birney, MT as a cook and gardener. Later years in New Mexico were spent working for the Crossed Saber's Ranch and researching numerous southwestern documentaries.
After years of no electricity or running water, she finally consented to move to Sheridan, WY to be closer to family and a more modern life style. She lived in Sheridan for nearly 6 years.
Mrs. Henderson was an avid reader, researcher, historian and enjoyed knitting and gardening and walking.
Her parents and her husband preceded Mrs. Henderson in death. She is survived by 1 son, Kit Henderson of Sheridan, WY; 1 daughter, Sarah Marie Henderson of Austin, Texas; 1 brother, F. C. "Johnny" Lepperd, of Prescott, Arizona; and 5 grandchildren.

Mrs. Hill was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Stanley; her sister Anne (Eli) Krynovich; her three brothers; and her two nieces. She is survived by her daughter Charmis Sarich and her husband Peter of Minnesota; her son Stanley and his wife Polly of Sheridan; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a nephew; and a niece.
Pursuant to Mrs. Hill's wishes, cremation has taken place locally with Kane Crematory, and memorial services will be held at the Chisholm Methodist Church in Chisholm, Minnesota, at a later date. Kane Funeral Home handled the local arrangements, and Rupp Funeral Home will handle the arrangements in Chisholm, Minnesota.

Mrs. Hobein was born June 1, 1922 in Stockport, England to Mr. and Mrs. Harry Slater. She grew up and attended schools in England, graduating from High School there.
She met Lawrence Hobein in a U. S. O. club while he was stationed in England during W. W. II, and they married February 6, 1943 in England. After the war, they returned to Sheridan for several years, then lived in S. and N. Dakota, Nebraska, Michigan, Colorado, and several other states before Mr. Hobein's retirement when they moved to Sun City, Arizona in 1989. They were married for 55 years before Mr. Hobein's death in 1998. Mrs. Hobein returned to Sheridan in 2000.

Mrs. Hobein is survived by 1 sister, Sheila Sargent, Dorsett, England; 1 brother-in-law, Dale Sickel, Sheridan, WY; and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Hogelund was born March 13, 1926, in Kansas City, Missouri, to Herbert Leonard and Clara Marie (Williams) Hogelund. He grew up and attended schools in Kansas City, Kansas, graduating from Wyandotte High School; then attended and graduated from Kansas City, Kansas Junior College before enlisting in the U. S. Navy during W. W. II, where he served in the Pacific Theatre.
Mr. Hogelund married Gloria Hay in Olatha, Kansas, May 12, 1947. He was an Insurance Underwriter for All-State Insurance Company for a number of years, and then was self-employed. He enjoyed spending time with his family.
Mr. Hogelund was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Gloria, of Osage Beach, Missouri; one son, Kent Hogelund, and special friend, Jacqueline Burgess, of Lee's Summit, Missouri; two daughters, Linda Kitzerow, and husband, Scott, of Overland Park, Kansas; and Karen Ward, and husband, Sandy, of Buffalo, WY; 4 grandchildren; and 1 great grandchild.

Sonny was born in Sheridan, WY, at a private home to parents, George Holmes and Emily "Judy" (Skepper) Holmes. Sonny married Dixie L. Ellis on October 10, 1953. They had two children, Michele D. "Shelly" Holmes and Mark Dennis Holmes. Sonny ran the family ranch in Decker, MT, for many years and upon retirement from ranching, he set up and ran a diesel mechanic shop along with a trucking firm. Besides enjoying trucking and doing mechanic work, Sonny enjoyed playing cards, fishing, dancing, rodeos, traveling, and his grandchildren and great-grandson. Sonny enjoyed going to Las Vegas with Dixie in order to play in Pan Tournaments and to get away from life's hustle and bustle. Sonny was a very generous person who helped a lot of people in their time of need. He had a smile that could warm the heart, or when needed, a look that could chill you to the bone.
Sonny was a life member of Elks Lodge #520, a member of the Kalif Horse Patrol, the Shrine and Blue Lodes, and the Eagles #186.
Sonny was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Mark Dennis Holmes; and a sister, Margaret Fleury. He is survived by his wife, Dixie; his daughter, Shelly; his grandsons, Mark Jason Moreland and Justin Cleo Moreland; his great-grandson, Austin James Moreland; and a nephew, Mike W. Rideout.

Mr. Jelly was born in Sheridan by the Girl's School November 18, 1917 to Charles A. and Edna (Randall) Jelly. He attended schools in Big Horn, on Beaver Creek, and Lower Prairie Dog country school. He then started working on ranches in the area, then went to work for Sally Forbes on the Becton Stock Farm, and worked there for over 30 years.
Mr. Jelly enjoyed ranching, and was an avid hunter and fisherman.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers, and 1 sister. Mr. Jelly is survived by his wife, Betty (Reed) Jelly of Sheridan, who he married November 8, 1997.
Services for Mr. Jelly will be 1:00 P.M. Saturday, November 9, 2002 in the Chapel at Sheridan Manor with Father Ronald Stolcis officiating. Burial will be in the Sheridan Municipal Cemetery. Arrangements are with Champion Funeral Home.
Mary was born November 7, 1929, in Grandfield, Oklahoma, to Frank Vincent Josefy and Mabel Lee (Warner) Josefy. Although Mary never graduated from high school, she spent her life working and learning to better herself. She started as a waitress, then became a cook, then a bookkeeper. First and foremost, however, she was a mother, grandmother, friend, and confidant.
Mary was married to Frank Kawulok, Jr. on October 6, 1952, in Fort Worth, Texas. Together they lovingly raised three children, Billie, Frank, and Rudy. They later divorced, but remained good friends. Mary married Glen "Dutch" Kaufeldt in Wichita Falls, Texas, in 1974. They divorced in 1999. Mary then moved back to Sheridan to be close to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Mary loved to sew and cook. She was an excellent cook and passed on many of her recipes to her family. She also enjoyed crocheting, needlepoint, and being in the mountains. Most of all, she loved being with her family.

Mary is survived by her children, Billie and Chic Rawlings of Sheridan, Frank and Karen Kawulok of Sheridan, and Rudy Kawulok of Cheyenne; her five grandchildren, Cindy and Tony Trujillo, Tracy and Dean McCalla, Debi and Mike Giger, Chris Kawulok, and Vince Kawulok; her nine great-grandchildren, Dustin, Jessica, Cody, Stephanie, Dustin, Larissa, Wayne, Holly, and Whitney; and her seven brothers and sisters, Jim and DeAnne Josefy of Grandfield, Oklahoma, Katherine Kemplin of Wichita Falls, Texas, Carleene and Tillman Cason of Dallas, Texas, Harold and Glenda Josefy of Grandfield, Oklahoma, Marie Tinlin of Grand Prairie, Texas, Lewis and Paula Josefy of Grandfield, Oklahoma, and Paul Josefy of San Francisco, California.

Frank graduated from Ranchester High School where he played Basketball and Football. He worked for Monarch Coal Co. and ranched until he enlisted in the Air Force where he served from 1949 - 1953. He married and had three children. He was later divorced. In 1956, he went to work for the Wyo. Employment Security Comm. in Worland, WY. He transferred to the office in Sheridan in 1962 and was promoted to manager in 1964. Frank married Ellen Brantz on February 25, 1972. He worked for the WESC until he retired in July, 1987. Frank was a charter member of the Tongue River Rod & Gun Club and a member of the Ranchester Volunteer Fire Dept. He was a Past Pres. of the WY. Public Employees Assn. and an life member of the D.A.V. and Elks Lodge #520. Frank enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his family in the mountains. He was always there to support his family.

He grew up and graduated high school in Wolbach, Nebraska. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served in Vietnam. He married Janis L. Calkins on June 18, 1973. Gayland worked as a truck driver, farm and ranch hand and the as a housekeeper at the V.A. Medical Center. He was a member of the VFW, Past Grand Commander of Military Order of Cootie and a life member of Pup Tent #7. Gayland enjoyed hunting, cooking holiday dinners, baking cookies & pies, gardening, lawn work and helping family and friends.

John was born in Shelton, WA, on December 15, 1951, to Austin & Norma (Helmer) Larson. He graduated from Shelton High School in 1970. He enlisted in the Army in 1970 and served until 1973. In 1971, he married Christine Flint of Shelton and they were later divorced.
On March 18, 1983, John married Patricia Bents of Colorado Springs. They moved to Sheridan in 1984 and he worked as Sales Manager for Cobra Tires. In 1997, he started Grand Slam Security in Sheridan. John enjoyed the mountains, four wheeling, fishing and playing cribbage. He was known for his sense of humor, storytelling, handlebar mustache and cowboy hats.
Survivors include his wife Patty of Sheridan; his parents of Shelton, WA; brothers Bruce of Matlock, WA, and David of Seattle, WA; and nephews Joe and Erik Larson of Matlock, WA.

She married Arthur Manz on January 19, 1925, in Littleton, CO. They moved to Sheridan where Mr. Manz worked for the railroad. Claudia worked as a sales clerk for several stores including The New York Store, which later was known as Stevens Fryberger Co. She also clerked at JC Penney and Humphreys. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and was active in PEO.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, one

Mr. Martini was born October 15, 1919 in Sheridan, WY to Egidio and Katherina (Prevadel) Martini. He grew up in Sheridan and attended Sheridan schools, graduating from Sheridan High School.
He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U. S. Navy, and at the time of his discharge, was a Pharmacist Mate, 1st Class. Mr. Martini married Jeane Martin November 18, 1944 in San Francisco, CA. They returned to Sheridan where Mr. Martini went to work for C. B. & Q. railroad, later Burlington Northern railroad, retiring as a conductor.
Mr. Martini was a member of Elk's Lodge #520, American Legion Post # 7, in which he was a 53 year member, and was an avid gardener.
Mr. Martini was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Jeane; and 3 brothers.
He is survived by 2 sons, Richard and his wife Barb, of Florence, KY; and Robert, of Elizebethtown, PA; 3 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren.
Services for Mr. Martini will be 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, November 5, 2002 at Champion Ferries Funeral Home with the Rev. Wilbur Holz officiating. Burial will be in the Elk's Section of Sheridan Municipal Cemetery.

The family moved to the Sheridan area when he was nine months old. He attended Wakeley School and graduated from Sheridan High School in 1957. He enlisted in the Air Force and served from 1957 - 1961. After the service, he returned to Sheridan where he worked for Sheridan Electric City. Donald married LaVonne Gentz on June 15, 1968. He worked for Northern Lumber Co. and several other businesses until he 1990 when he went to work for Westview Health Care Center where he worked until he retired in 2001. Donald was a member of the Church of Christ and enjoyed woodcarving and gun collecting.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother
Robert H. Baker.

Lorie was born on November 22, 1960, to Chris Monson and Barbara Scharf in Deer Lodge, Montana. After finishing school, Lorie moved to Gillette in 1983 and then to Sheridan. Lorie was a housekeeper and was employed with Memorial Hospital of Sheridan County. Lorie enjoyed her job and she loved all the people she worked with. She loved the outdoors, her favorite summer getaway was Meadowlark Lake in the Bighorn Mountains. She also loved animals big and small. Her favorite animals were dolphins. She loved her three children, granddaughter and her family. She was a kind and a very giving person. She collected angels, and she is an angel among angels now.
Lorie was preceded in death by her father Chris Monson, her brother Larry Monson, and her sisters Lydin Chamberlin and Leslie Monson. Survivors include her parents, Barbara and Edward Johnson of Missoula, Montana, her sons Ronny Nixon and Jayme Nixon of Sheridan, her daughter, Barbara Hayes of Sheridan, her sister Charlotte and husband John Molendyke of Deer Lodge, Montana, her sister Lorean and her husband Marvin Newbrough of Sheridan, her favorite nephew, Kris Monson of Sheridan,and one granddaughter, Brittany Nixon.
Memorial Services will be held at the Sheridan Foursquare Church on Wednesday, December 11, 2002 at 1:00 PM with Pastor Scott McDougall officiating. Inurnment of cremains will take place at a later date in Deer Lodge, Montana In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Lorie's name to the Sheridan Foursquare Church, or the diabetes treatment unit at Memorial Hospital of Sheridan County.

Loretta was born on November 29, 1936, in Sheridan, Wyoming, to Elgin and Roberta (Richards) Ekis. She loved her family, nature, her pets, movies, and going on picnics. Her favorite song was "Seven Spanish Angels". We children could not have asked for a better mother and friend. We love you, Mom.
Mrs. Norwash was preceded in death by her son Steven Norwash; her parents; and two of her brothers LeRoy and Ralph Ekis. Survivors include her two children Shirley K. Norwash and Jay V. Norwash; her sister Elizabeth Parsons; and her brothers Charles Ekis, Robert Ekis, and James Ekis.

Mrs. Panetta was born on June 14, 1920, to James and Ella (Patterson) Taylor in Briggs, Texas, and she was raised and educated in Texas. Upon graduation from high school in 1937, she completed three years of nurses training at Tarrent County General Hospital in Fort Worth, Texas. She served in the Army Nurse Corps from February of 1941 to January of 1946, being stationed in Hawaii during that time. After the war, while visiting relatives in Sheridan, Edna met and later married Walter Panetta. She worked as a nurse at the Sheridan V.A. Medical Center until her retirement.
Edna loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and her pets. She also enjoyed fishing, gardening, playing cards, and going to auction sales.
Mrs. Panetta was preceded in death by her husband in 1982, two sisters, and one brother. She is survived by her two daughters, Pam Winterholler and her husband Mike of Sheridan and Katie Melton and her husband Ken of Gillette; her two grandchildren; and her two great-grandchildren.

Mr. Pate was born June 15, 1913 in McCook, Nebraska, to Delbert and Drucilla (Hagerson) Pate. He grew up and attended schools in McCook. Mr. Pate then moved to Wyoming where he worked on various ranches. When WW II broke out, Mr. Pate enlisted in the Army and served in the European Theatre, mainly in the mountains of Italy, where he worked with donkeys. After the service, Mr. Pate returned to the States and went to work for the V. A. Hospital in Hot Springs, S.D., then transferred to the V. A. Hospital in Sheridan.
Mr. Pate married Nellie Ritola in Sheridan on Valentine's Day, 1973. Mr. Pate was a life member of the American Legion Post and life member of the Sheridan Elk's Lodge. He enjoyed gardening, playing Bingo, dancing, and loved playing pool. Mr. Pate was on the entertainment committee at the Sheridan Elk's Lodge for many years.

He is survived by his wife, Cornelia "Nellie" Pate, of

He was born September 10, 1962 in Sheridan to Jack L. and Mary L. (Niemann) Paul. He grew up and attended schools in Sheridan, graduating from Sheridan High School in 1981. He then attended the Wyoming Technical School in Laramie, WY.
Mr. Paul was an auto body paint-man, working in several shops in Denver, CO, Casper, WY, and Florida before returning to Sheridan where he worked in several area body shops. He enjoyed 4-wheeling, boating, snow machining, liked the outdoors and enjoyed car races. He was a member of the Snow-Mads, and the YMCA.
He was proceeded in death by his grandparents. Mr. Paul in survived by his parents, Jack and Mary Paul of Sheridan; a daughter, Jessica Ann Paul of Sheridan; and 2 sisters, Sandy Morton of Sheridan, and Jackie Thorne of Wellington, CO.

Ardith Burdette Peterson was born on May 23, 1923, in North Loup, Nebraska. She was the second daughter born to Neils Christian "Pete" Peterson and Grace Emerald (Beliel) Peterson. Her early years were spent in Nebraska. She moved with her family to Midwest, Wyoming, and graduated from Midwest High School. Ardith was a champion tennis player in high school and enjoyed all sports. During her teens she worked in the movie theater in Midwest. She was a drummer with the Midwest bands.
In the World War II years, she worked in the munitions manufacturing plant at Rocky Mountain Arsenal in Colorado and built electrical components for Bomber airplanes. After the war, she worked at different jobs such as: driving a truck for delivery services, tending bar, or cooking in different Denver area eateries. In one restaurant position she met Florence Miner, her life long friend and business partner.
In 1949, Ardith and Florence purchased the Tunnel Inn Bar and Supper Club in Story, Wyoming. Ardie, a strong successful business woman, was a skilled bartender and good cook. She was also a shrewd card player, an enthusiastic dancer and lively musician. She assisted the community endeavors of Story residents in private funding and in public fund-raising. Some projects were establishing the Story fire department and ambulance service as well as special activities for the Story School. She served as treasurer of the Story library group in expanding the library structure, activities, and books. She raised funds for building Our Lady of the Pines Catholic Church during the 1950s. She was an active big game hunter and enjoyed riding a motorcycle and snowmobile.
Ardith sold the Tunnel Inn and retired in 1981. She moved to Sheridan in 1987 and spent her last 3 years in a nursing home. She maintained an interest in animal welfare. Until her last year, Ardie worked many jigsaw puzzles.
Ardie's parents, step-mother Shirley Peterson, and older sister Iris Hodde preceded her in death.
Ardith Peterson is survived by a younger sister Twyla Bretey of Alcova, Wy, and nieces - Vicki Jo Bretey of Alcova, Wy; Pam Reid of Casper, Wy; Penny Miles of Lingle, Wy. She is also survived by the daughters and families of Florence Miner: Linda (Miner) & Cal Clayton, Carol Ann (Miner) & Ed Schleichardt, and Janet (Miner) & Pete Frith.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 23, 2002, at Kane Funeral Home with The Reverend Ron Stolcis officiating . Kane Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
Charles was born on March 15, 1926, in Blue Earth Minnesota, to Elizabeth and Tobias Peterson. He attended high school at Augustana Academy in Canton, South Dakota. Upon graduation, Charles enlisted in the Navy and went to Officer's Training at the University of Colorado. After discharge from the Navy, he enrolled at the University of Wyoming in Laramie and graduated with a degree in Geology. While at the University he played football for the Cowboys and was All Conference and honorable mention All American.
He married Diane Stephens on August 21, 1948 in Park Ridge, Illinois and their union was blessed with 4 children.
After Graduation, Charles returned to farm the family farm in Blue Earth, MN for 8 years. He then took a sales job with General Mills where he worked for 22 years living in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota, Shreveport, Louisiana and finally in Long Lake, Minnesota He took early retirement and started an industrial chemical consulting business in Sheridan which he continued until his death.
Charles enjoyed hunting, fishing, and golfing. He was affiliated with the Cowboy Joe Club, Wyoming State Seniors Golf, Trinity Lutheran Church, Ducks Unlimited and the National Wildlife Federation.
Mr. Peterson was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Terry Peterson, and grandson Eric Peterson, as well as three sisters: Eleanor Larson, Margaret Reinertson, Elaine Miller and brother David Peterson.
Charles is survived by Diane, his wife of 54 years; son Stephen and wife Mary and their children: Jennifer, Teresa, Kevin, and Christine of Bloomington Illinois; son Scott and wife Bonnie and their children Alex and Kari of Allen, Texas; son Kent of White Bear Lake, MN and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Charles is also survived by his sister: Elizabeth Boito of Santa Maria, California; sister in law Joanne Peterson; brother in law Ken Reinertson and wife Margaret; brother in law Fred Miller and wife Joan; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial service to celebrate Chuck's life will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Tuesday October 15, 2002 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Sheridan. Mrs. Randall was born November 25, 1924 in Monarch, WY to Ernest and Anna Louella (Morgan) Kester. She grew up and attended elementary schools in the Ash Creek area, then attended and graduated from Sheridan High School in 1942.
Mrs. Randall then worked for the telephone company in Denver, CO. She married Robert W. Randall in Sheridan, WY on January 13, 1946. She worked for an insurance company in Sheridan for a short period after their marriage, then devoted her life to being a homemaker and mother. Mrs. Randall enjoyed spending time on her ranch on Ash Creek being with the cattle, and farming. She had been a member of Job's Daughter's, and was a member of 1st United Methodist Church in Sheridan.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and one brother.
She is survived by her husband, Bob, of Sheridan; one son, Gregg, of Powell, WY; one daughter, Deborah Saunders, of Houston, TX; one brother, Richard Kester, of Pennsylvania; and 4 grandchildren.

Mrs. Reimers was born December 2, 1935 in Sheridan, WY to Ralph Whitaker and Dorothy Elizabeth (Sickler) Jacobs. She was raised at Leiter, WY, and attended 1st through 7th grades at the Cadiz School, 8th grade at Hill School in Sheridan, & 9th through 12th grades at Sheridan High School graduating in 1953.
She married Gene L Reimers February 13, 1958 in the Sheridan County Court House by then Justice of the Peace Phil Garbutt, this being his first marriage ceremony.
Mrs. Reimers was a bookkeeper working for Riley Motor Company, the Sheridan County Clerk's Office, & Sheridan Motors. She also was employed at Boyd's Supermarket & J. C. Penney's. She was a member of Job's Daughters in High School and a member of 1st Christian Church, Sheridan. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, loved horses and enjoyed camping and reading.
Mrs. Reimers was preceded in death by her parents, 1 brother, 1 grandson, 1 nephew and 1 niece.
She is survived by her husband, Gene, of Sheridan, 3 son's Clinton J. & Jerry R. Reimers of Sheridan; Donald J. Reimers of Jacksonville, FL.; 1 daughter, Leslie J. Carter of Sheridan, WY; 2 sisters, Joan I. Jacobs & Beverly J. Rhodes, both of Sheridan; 12 grandchildren & 3 great grandchildren.

Ermal was born in Alanthus Grove, Missouri, on April 27, 1918, one of nine children of Lulu and Otis Bateman. When she was a young woman she moved to the Sate of Washington where she later met Donald H. Roberts. Several years later when Donald was serving in the Army during WWII, they were married at Camp Lee, Virginia, on February 12, 1943.
Ermal and Donald raised their children on their PK Ranch west of Sheridan. Her family was the most important part of her life. She was very involved in the small country school her children attended, from helping with activities and field days to sewing costumes for the school's programs. She believed in being a full time Mother and Wife. Ermal also enjoyed the beauty of the mountains and open spaces, and being an active part of her children's outdoor activities. Her home and spacious yard were always full of the laughter of family and friends. Ermal always had open arms for someone in need, offering a helping hand and a warm shoulder for listening. She was a friend to all.
Survivors include her husband of 59 years Donald H. Roberts, a daughter Sheri Tietjen of Clearmont, a son Donald B. Roberts of Sheridan, 5 grandchildren, a sister Shirley Miller of Hawaii, a brother Otis "Lucky" Bateman, Jr. of Sheridan, nephew Bret Bateman who has been like a second son to Ermal and Don for 18 years and numerous other nieces and nephews.

Matthew C. "Mick" Roberts was born May 5, 1917, in Crook County, Wyoming, to William and Nettie (Angel) Roberts. He attended school in Sundance, graduating in 1933 at the age of 16. After graduation, Mick taught in one-room country schools in Crook County. On April 30, 1939, he married Leona "Nonnie" Canfield, and the couple moved to Cheyenne. Mick took a position as clerk for the Sales Tax Division at the State of Wyoming. He became a clerk for Burlington Trailways Bus Company in 1941, and retired from Trailways in 1980 as Regional Superintendent. After the loss of his wife in 1980, Mick became a bookkeeper for the Albany CafE9, and worked there until moving to Sheridan in 1999.
Mick was preceded in death by his wife Nonnie and his parents. He is survived by his son Larry and daughter Geraldine of Sheridan; two grandchildren Jeanan and Hans; eight great-grandchildren; his two sisters, Mary Hook of South Dakota and Nora Reimer of Cheyenne; a brother Don of Texas; many loving in-laws and very good friends, as well as his family will miss him greatly.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 12, 2002, at the Methodist Church in Sundance, Wyoming. Kane Funeral Home is handling the local arrangements. Fidler Funeral Chapels in Sundance, Wyoming, are handling the Sundance arrangements.
The family has requested that memorials be made in Mick's name to Crook County Library, in care of Delphine Toner, First Interstate Bank, P.O. Box 2007, Sheridan, WY 82801.
Mrs. Robinson was born in Clarinda, Iowa on July 25, 1898 to Turner Fredrick (T. F.) and Martha Ophelia (Thompson) FitzGerald. At the age of 8, Elizabeth moved with her family from Iowa to Kansas with her parents, 2 brothers and a sister. They lived near Columbus, on an 80 acre farm and the children attended a country school one mile from home. After three years, the family moved back to Iowa, where Elizabeth attended a school a few miles from Clarinda.
In 1912, her family moved to an irrigated place on the Billings Bench, northeast of Billings, and Elizabeth finished grade school, and attended one year of High School in Billings before her father and older brother took up homesteads ten miles East of Arvada, WY.
When moving from one state to another, the livestock, farm implements and household furnishings were loaded into a railroad box car, called an "Immigrant car." A member of the family rode on the freight train and fed and cared for the stock in this car. The rest of the family traveled on a passenger train to their destination.
Elizabeth finished High School in Sheridan, after teaching a year at the school near her home. She also attended the University of Wyoming and Sheridan College.
On September 3, 1926, she married George Chester Robinson and they lived on his homestead while she was teaching a school on Middle Prong of Wild Horse Creek. They moved to Sheridan, WY in 1930 where they continued to live.
Elizabeth enjoyed working at home and raising her family. She was active in the First United Methodist Church and helped teach children in the Beginner's Department for twenty years. She was a member of the Alpha Kappa Sunday School class and attended their monthly meetings and helped with the yearly Banquets.
In 1960 she spent a year and summer schools at Sheridan College in preparation to teach 2 years at Squirrel Creek in Montana. In later years she still attended the Alpha Kappa Sunday School class and was active in the Women's Society of the Church and helped when needed. She was a frequent visitor at Sheridan Manor as many of her friends were there. She was a busy letter writer, keeping in touch with her children, grandchildren, and her nieces and nephews. Mrs. Robinson was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and all her brothers and sisters. She is survived by 2 sons, George C. Robinson, Jr, of Sheridan, WY; Oren Menagh Robinson, of Phoenix, AR; one daughter, Shirle
